Summary of the contracting process

Greenshaw Learning Trust is procuring waste collection and related waste management services for its schools. The requirement covers seven Berkshire schools and eleven London and Surrey schools, with delivery across Berkshire, London, Surrey and the Sutton area. The London and Surrey lot was awarded to SUEZ Recycling and Recovery UK Ltd on 29 January 2026 for £506,000 gross; its signed contract is worth £513,000 gross, signed on 2 June 2026, running from 2 June 2026 to 31 August 2029, with extensions possible to 31 August 2033. Each lot was evaluated on price (40%), quality (50%) and social value (10%). Eight bids were received for Berkshire and six for London and Surrey. Three Berkshire finalists and one London and Surrey finalist were SMEs.

This award shows that Greenshaw Learning Trust buys coordinated waste collection across a substantial school estate, using separate geographic service areas and a competitive flexible process.
