Summary of the contracting process

The University of Strathclyde has successfully completed the procurement process for the supply, delivery, commissioning, and maintenance of side stream filtration units for the period 2026-30. This project, valued at GBP 296,683, will be executed on the institution's Glasgow campus, located in the region of UKM82. This buying exercise falls under the industry category of water filtration apparatus, classified under CPV code 42912310. Having reached the award stage, the contract was granted to Enwa Water Technology AS T/A Enwa Water Technology UK via a limited procurement method, specifically negotiated without publication of a contract notice, due to technical reasons where competition was determined to be absent. The contract was officially signed on 4th February 2026.

This tender represents a significant opportunity for businesses dealing in water filtration technology, particularly those specialising in advanced and compact filtration units that require minimal consumable items. Companies that can offer innovative technical solutions fulfilling stringent specifications, such as filtration to less than 5 microns, efficient pH control, and the elimination of bacterial growth, are ideally positioned to benefit from similar future procurements. In particular, firms with a strong focus on environmental sustainability and energy efficiency, capable of executing comprehensive installation and ongoing maintenance services, will find potential growth in this sector. Furthermore, the University’s emphasis on technical compatibility highlights a lucrative niche for businesses developing bespoke filtration solutions.
