Sunderland City Council bought new forklift trucks for cargo operations at the Port of Sunderland. The requirement was split into two lots: six 8-tonne trucks and three 33-tonne trucks. For suppliers competing for a similar Sunderland City Council requirement, this purchase demonstrates demand for both standard-capacity and heavy-duty forklift trucks for cargo handling at the Port of Sunderland. The two separate lots allowed suppliers to compete for a specific truck class, and the Council selected different suppliers for each.
