Summary of the contracting process

The Felixstowe Dock and Railway Company, a private utility organisation based in Felixstowe, is inviting tenders for the provision of temporary workers to undertake warehousing duties at the Port of Felixstowe's Statutory Examination Area. This procurement process is currently in the tender stage and follows a selective competitive flexible procedure. Interested suppliers must express their interest by 29 January 2026 via the Purchaser's e-tender portal. The project is classified under services and focuses on the supply services of temporary staff, with a contract value estimated at £2,562,000. The contract period is anticipated to begin on 1 June 2026 and conclude by 31 May 2029, with an optional renewal extension until 31 May 2031. Final award decisions will be made by 7 April 2026.

This tender represents a significant business growth opportunity for firms specialising in temporary staffing solutions, particularly those experienced in providing personnel for manual and fork-lift operations within warehousing environments. With an annual requirement of 26,000 to 38,000 worked hours, this contract offers a substantial volume of work, potentially involving multiple suppliers. Companies with strong financial standings, demonstrated through thorough assessments, and the ability to meet specific participation conditions, will find this opportunity well-suited to their capabilities. The procurement method allows for competitive participation, assuring a fair basis for evaluating price and quality offerings, making it an attractive prospect for capable suppliers in the logistics and warehouse staffing industries.
