Summary of the contracting process

The London Borough of Waltham Forest has initiated an open tender for the procurement of a Digital Social Care Records (DSCR) system, aiming to replace paper-based records to enhance governance, compliance, and care quality in three CQC-registered residential care homes: George Mason Lodge, Mapleton Road, and Alliston House. These facilities are located in the United Kingdom and provide 24-hour care services for the elderly and those living with dementia. The tender process is currently active, with an enquiry period ending on 2nd February 2026 and a submission deadline set for 8th February 2026. The procurement falls under the industry categories of IT services and health and social work services, with a contract value of £50,000 (gross value £60,000). The contract is expected to commence on 1st May 2026 and conclude on 30th April 2029, with the possibility of extensions. This process is being conducted under a below-threshold open competition method.

This tender presents growth opportunities for businesses specialising in IT services, particularly those capable of developing and implementing digital record systems tailored for health and social care settings. Additionally, the tender is suitable for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) as well as voluntary, community and social enterprises (VCSEs), allowing a diverse range of organisations to participate and potentially expand their market presence in the public sector. The focus on improving care quality through digital solutions makes this an attractive prospect for businesses aiming to demonstrate their expertise in health IT innovations.
