Newcastle City Council have historically led on the commissioning process around better health at work for the region. The current contract covers regional coordination of the programme, website management, PR and comms, production of regional resources, some regional business engagement, support with assessments, verification and quality assurance of the award process, regional training/capacity building opportunities and webinars. The Commissioning Local Authority Public Health teams have led on specific business advice and support around the award scheme, localised networking and celebration events, any additional local training/capacity building and annual assessment of workplaces. This recommissioning gives us an opportunity to ensure the valuable work continues and that it the contract is fit for the future.
