Summary of the contracting process

The NHS Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Integrated Care Board (ICB) is organising a market engagement event for a Community Ophthalmology Service, scheduled to take place on 29th January 2026 from 3:00 pm to 4:30 pm online via MS Teams. This event is part of the planning stage of the procurement process, aimed at enhancing community ophthalmology services within four Place Based Partnerships in the Nottingham region to reduce unnecessary secondary care referrals. Interested providers should register through Atamis and express their interest by 12 pm on 28th January 2026. The service falls under the health services category, specifically focusing on community-based ophthalmological assessment, management, and treatment.

This engagement offers significant opportunities for businesses in the health services sector, particularly for those specialising in ophthalmology. Providers with capabilities in community-based services, clinical triage, and treatment of minor eye conditions and cataract postoperative care are well-placed to contribute to this initiative. Engaging in this market event not only allows providers to shape the draft service specification but also to position themselves advantageously for subsequent invitations to tender, facilitating potential business growth in the Nottinghamshire health services market.
