This operation receives bulk loads of round logs to its timber yard at Heatley Hall Farm, Rugeley, which are stored until suitable for chipping on site. The chips are warehoused in specially constructed shelters on site for further drying until required for delivery to our biomass heat installations on an as-needed basis. The Council also receives and distributes wood chip from external sources. This procurement is for the supply of services to SCC to assist our activity as timber merchant and as a wood chip fuel producer/trader which supplies wood chip fuel. Timber should be sourced within a 60-mile radius of the depot where possible. SCC is inviting interest from suitable providers to provide either one or both above Lots on an as-needed basis. Providers are to specify which lot(s) they are bidding for in their submission. The haulier must demonstrate full compliance with the The Road Haulage of Round Timber Code of Practice 2020, or any successive document, as published by the Timber Transport Forum.
