Notice Description
The Authority (Tendring District Council) is seeking to refurbish a group of 1930s-1950s seafront buildings-comprising a former Beach Patrol and Public Conveniences block, a covered shelter, and a small hut-located within a designated Conservation Area. The structures are currently in varying states of disrepair but remain broadly structurally sound. The project aims to transform these buildings into a new Seafront Micro Venue offering high-quality cultural and community space. Works will include building fabric repairs, internal reconfiguration, full M&E upgrades, and conservation-sensitive refurbishment to create a modern, accessible public venue while retaining key heritage character.

Go to: https://procontract.due-north.com/Opportunities 2. Search for Essex County Council from the organisation list 3. Search for Project ref: DN804113 or title "EPP0220/Ten_10 - Seafront Micro-venue" 4. Select "express interest" in this opportunity 5. Download the Market Engagement Information Pack and complete the attached questionnaire by the deadline date. The deadline for responses is Friday 27th February 2026. Important information: This notice is not a call for competition to procure any works or services and is not published to reduce time limited for the receipt of tenders. Interested parties will not be prejudiced by any response or (lack) to this notice. Nor shall a response to this notice guarantee an invitation to participate a future procurement process that Essex County Council may conduct. The Council may at its sole discretion hold further conversations with individual organisations. Essex County Council is not liable for any costs, fees or expenses incurred by any party responding to this notice or any party who may participate in the market consultation exercise. Please direct all queries through the ProContract messaging function. Anyone contacting the Council directly via email will be directed to the portal for communications.
