Summary of the contracting process

The Marine Management Organisation (MMO), a central government public authority based in London, is inviting bids for its "Safe Boarding of Sea Vessels" training programme. The procurement is focused on the education and training services industry and seeks vendors to deliver a week-long theoretical and practical training course, ensuring MMO staff are adequately prepared for seagoing roles. The procurement process is currently in the tender stage, operating under the open procedure method. The submission deadline is set for 28 April 2026, with contracts expected to commence on 1 July 2026 and potentially extend until June 2031. This initiative aims to support sustainable fishing and global marine protection, amongst other strategic goals.

This tender offers significant growth opportunities for businesses specialising in education and training services, particularly those with expertise in off-shore and marine environments. The contract is suitable for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) as well as voluntary, community, and social enterprises (VCSEs). Companies that can demonstrate robust technical capabilities, sustainability in their operations, and competitive pricing will find this tender appealing. It represents a chance for businesses to align themselves with governmental efforts in marine management, thereby expanding their reach and enhancing their reputation in the field of maritime training and enforcement support.
