Summary of the contracting process

The NHS Suffolk and North East Essex Integrated Care Board (SNEE ICB) has completed the procurement process for the "NHS CHC Spot Purchase Beds 2025 - 2030" project, as per the Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023. This contract pertains to the health services industry, focusing on spot purchase beds for patients eligible for Continuing Healthcare funding. The awarded contract, set from 1st January 2026 to 31st December 2030, involves the procurement of Care Home placements on a non-restricted provider basis within the regions of UKH14 and UKH34. The contract has been awarded to Optima HCI Ltd through a limited procurement method involving direct award, bypassing prior publication requirements due to its classification outside the directive's scope.

This tender represents valuable opportunities for businesses in the healthcare services sector, particularly those capable of providing or managing care home facilities for patients requiring continuing healthcare services. This is beneficial for businesses focusing on care home services, patient management, and healthcare delivery, as it offers a five-year engagement with possibilities for service expansion under the contract's modification clauses. Large scale providers, especially those with established operations and service capabilities in the relevant UK regions, would be well-positioned to benefit and contribute to the community healthcare system by participating in such procurements.
