Summary of the contracting process

The Vale of Glamorgan Council is currently in the planning stage of a public procurement process titled "VAWDASV Supported Accommodation and Tenancy Floating Support Service," aimed at providing assistance for victims of domestic abuse and sexual violence. As a public authority under Welsh devolved regulations, they seek to establish temporary accommodation and floating support for affected individuals within the Vale of Glamorgan region. The main procurement category is health and social work services, potentially affecting up to 45 units, with an estimated contract period beginning on 3rd August 2026 and lasting until 1st August 2031, with possible extensions. A market engagement event is scheduled to take place online via Microsoft Teams on 23rd February 2026, and interested parties must confirm their attendance by 20th February 2026.

This tender presents significant growth opportunities for businesses involved in health and social work services, particularly those experienced in providing flexible support to vulnerable individuals. Organisations classified as SMEs and VCSEs (Voluntary, Community, and Social Enterprises) may find this contract particularly suited to their operational capacities and strategic goals. By participating in the tendering process, businesses have the chance to expand their service offerings and establish a foothold in providing critical welfare services, supported by a five-year contract valued at £1,885,000, with the potential for renewal.
