Summary of the contracting process

Newcastle City Council is in the process of awarding a contract for Educational Psychology Assessments under the Provider Selection Regime (PSR). The procurement pertains to health services aimed at supporting education, specifically assessing children and young people for Education, Health and Care Plans. The contract, valued up to £252,560, covers the service period from 20th February 2026 to 19th August 2026 and is facilitated by a direct award procedure outside the standard directive scope. The intention to award notice was issued, but the formal award remains pending, with the standstill period valid until 19th February 2026. This contract follows a limited procurement method, focusing on the quality, innovation, value, integration, and social value criteria under the Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023.

This tender represents an excellent opportunity for businesses specialising in educational psychology and health services to engage with regional public sector needs. Companies with a strong track record in delivering innovative and cost-effective solutions, particularly those enhancing integration and reducing health inequalities, are well-suited to compete. Although the direct award method limits the competition, businesses might anticipate future opportunities by understanding Newcastle City Council's key delivery requirements in this sector. Engaging with such tenders enables businesses to contribute to impactful community services while potentially expanding their client base and service offerings.
