Summary of the contracting process

St George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, based in South West London, is preparing to launch a procurement process for the supply of lymphoedema garments and accessories. This public procurement process, currently in the planning stage, aims to support patients with chronic oedema and lymphoedema through the provision of essential clinical products categorised under clinical products (CPV code 33698000). The estimated value of the contract is £3.6 million. The Trust serves a vast population and provides specialist services, which underscores the importance of this procurement. The process is anticipated to progress with the publication of a Tender Notice expected around April 2026. The procurement method will follow the Procurement Act 2023, offering structured competitive bidding. Interested suppliers should prepare for a response to the future tender notice as part of this planned process.

This procurement presents significant business opportunities for suppliers specialising in clinical garments and accessories. Companies proficient in manufacturing bespoke and standard compression garments will find this contract particularly beneficial. The inclusion of digital ordering platforms and the requirement for clinical advice and product training suggest a preference for suppliers that can offer comprehensive and innovative solutions. Businesses that can provide a wide range of materials, compression classes, and sizes, along with support in the use of measurement tools and efficient supply chain management, stand to gain from this long-term relationship with a major NHS trust. The focus on diverse and complex patient needs also opens doors for businesses offering customised and technologically advanced product solutions.
