Summary of the contracting process

The Cambridgeshire & Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust is engaging in a procurement process to provide inpatient caseworker support and advice services, classified under 'Other community, social and personal services.' This initiative, focusing on adult and older adult inpatient wards, requires attendance at the Peterborough Cavell Centre and Fulbourn Inpatient wards within the UKH1 region. The tender has reached the award stage, with a contract signed on 12 February 2026. This limited procurement method involves a direct award to Citizen's Advice Bureau Cambridgeshire under the Provider Selection Regime, bypassing the need for prior publication of competitive calls, as allowed under technical reasons. The process reflects an intention to award rather than a concluded contractual obligation. The anticipated value of the contract stands at £46,000 GBP.

This tender provides significant opportunities for businesses specialising in advisory services, specifically those focused on financial, housing, benefits support, and relationship counselling. Firms equipped to deliver high-quality advice and training to healthcare teams, aligning with the Advice Quality Standard, will find this contract particularly beneficial for growth. As the service prioritises post-discharge community support and training, entities experienced in integrating healthcare advice into community practice are excellently positioned for this pilot project. The Citizen's Advice Bureau Cambridgeshire, identified as a small to medium-sized enterprise, exemplifies the type of organisation suited to meet the demands and developmental goals of this contract.
