Summary of the contracting process

Rochdale Borough Council recently held a procurement process under an Open Framework agreement to enhance care home services within the borough. This public authority, located at Number One Riverside, Rochdale, UKD37, successfully completed its third round of procurement as of 10 June 2026. The process focused on providing flexible, adaptive, and transformative care across multiple geographical locations in the UK, with a completion stage that included the tender and award of several lots. Among the awarded lots are services encompassing health and social work, with a contract period from 15 July 2026 to 31 March 2031, covering residential and nursing care provisions. The procurement method utilised was an open procedure within a special 'lightTouch' regime to ensure comprehensive support services.

This tender offers substantial growth opportunities for businesses in the care sector, particularly those equipped to provide residential and nursing care services. It is well-suited to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) interested in contributing to the improved quality of life for individuals in care homes, with room for innovative care solutions and collaborative frameworks. As part of the awarded businesses, a number of SMEs, such as CALTON SYSTEMS LIMITED and ROSE PETALS HEALTH CARE LTD, have already seized the opportunity to deliver high-quality care services. This framework, enabling re-opening of competition, provides a platform for companies to develop innovative care models, integrate technology, and improve service delivery, making it a fertile ground for business growth and community impact.
