Summary of the contracting process

The procurement process is being overseen by NHS Lancashire and South Cumbria Integrated Care Board, focusing on the provision of teledermatology services across the region. This initiative is part of the health services industry, with a planned start date and future engagement opportunities detailed. As it stands, the procurement is in the planning stage, signalling the development of its service specification and contracting process. Key dates include the deadline for the Market Engagement Questionnaire, set for midday on Thursday 5th March 2026, which stakeholders can access via the SAP Ariba Portal. Serving regions UKD1 and UKD4, the initiative aims to reduce health inequalities and enhance accessibility for patients across Lancashire and South Cumbria, with an overall contract value estimated at £13,100,000.

This tender represents a substantial opportunity for businesses specialising in health services and teledermatology solutions. Companies with expertise in patient-administration systems, clinical information systems, and digital engagement technologies are particularly well-suited to compete. Additionally, those experienced in community-based health service delivery, with capabilities in managing large-scale clinical systems and platforms like eDerma, may find significant growth potential. The procurement method planned under the Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023 encourages innovators in healthcare to contribute to future digital solutions that ensure seamless continuity in clinical triage services beyond existing contract expiry in March 2028.
