Summary of the contracting process

The procurement process led by the Communities & Housing Investment Consortium Ltd (CHIC) in Birmingham, United Kingdom, involves an amendment to the CHIC Development Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS) in the construction industry, specifically targeting multi-dwelling buildings and individual houses. This is a continuation of a procurement initiated on 16th June 2017, now updated with a revised expiry date extending to 23rd February 2029. The process remains under the procurement stage of tender, operating in accordance with the Public Contract Regulations 2015 despite changes introduced by the Procurement Act 2023. The tender update was published on 23rd February 2026, and it remains accessible to all UK public-sector bodies that are part of CHIC or could potentially become members.

This tender presents significant opportunities for construction firms specialising in residential building projects. With an estimated contract value of £300,000,000, businesses that cater to large-scale developments without exclusivity or guaranteed volumes can benefit from participating. It is well-suited for companies working as Registered Providers of Social Housing or those collaborating with local authorities and contracting entities across the UK. Firms that can align themselves with CHIC's procurement conditions and adapt to periodic reviews, which may include changes such as shortening or terminating the DPS, will find the environment conducive to business growth.
