Summary of the contracting process

The Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs (DAERA) is seeking suppliers for the inspection, maintenance, servicing, and repair of boats, trailers, and outboard engines for their Inland Fisheries Group across Northern Ireland. This tender process, initiated on 24 February 2026, is in the procurement stage, using an open procedure method with submissions only accepted electronically via eTendersNI. The tender, classified under the services category, falls within the repair and maintenance services industry. Potential bidders must note the enquiry period ending on 19 March 2026, the submission deadline on 26 March 2026, and possible award by 13 April 2026. The estimated contract value is £450,000, with work commencing from 4 May 2026.

This tender presents significant business growth opportunities, especially for SMEs specialising in marine equipment maintenance and repair. The contract spans three years with potential extensions, ensuring sustained engagement. As cost is weighted heavily, businesses with competitive pricing on hourly rates and OEM parts discounts will be particularly advantageous. Technical expertise in compliance with relevant legislation is crucial, as DAERA seeks reliable suppliers to maintain operational effectiveness of their fleet in line with statutory duties. Businesses located within Northern Ireland and proficient in managing large public authority contracts will find this an attractive opportunity due to the scope of services required and the structured procurement process established by CPD.
