Summary of the contracting process

The Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is currently offering an active tender for a National Framework Agreement focused on the provision of track and traceability systems crucial for NHS organisations. This procurement relates to surgical tracking and tracing systems, falling under the goods procurement category, with an open procedure methodology. The process is set in the medical industry across several locations including the United Kingdom, Guernsey, Isle of Man, and Jersey. The tendering stage began on 2nd March 2026, with submissions closing on 1st April 2026, followed by an awarding deadline on 1st May 2026. The agreement provides for both the supply of complete systems and ongoing support services, with contracts potentially extending up to April 2034.

This framework offers significant business growth potential, particularly for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) capable of providing decontamination tracking systems or ongoing support and maintenance services. Companies with expertise in surgical instrument tracking technology and supporting hardware will find this tender a valuable opportunity to extend their reach across NHS trusts in various UK regions and Crown dependencies. The framework permits call-off contracts with or without competition, ensuring flexibility and adaptability to market needs. Furthermore, a Gain Share charge incentivizes suppliers by tying their turnover to the framework host, facilitating ongoing partnership opportunities during the framework's lifespan.

Notice Title

National Framework Agreement for Provision of Track and Traceability Systems

Notice Description

The objective of this framework is to provide NHS Organisations with decontamination tracking and traceability management systems, along with consumables and support services. Suppliers can also supply all associated hardware and consumables, if required. A decontamination tracking and traceability management system is used by hospitals during the decontamination, high-level disinfection, and sterilisation of instruments, endoscopes, and flexi scopes. The system supports the seamless decontamination, sterilisation, tracking, and tracing of all instruments, endoscopes, or devices through the decontamination facility and process, ensuring they are safely returned for use, and where required, may provide theatre management functionality to support instrument allocation, scheduling and device to patient associations.
