Summary of the contracting process

Hartlepool Borough Council has completed a procurement process for the provision of services by substance misuse practitioners, as part of a project scheduled from 1st April 2026 to 31st March 2028. This contract is classified under health and social work services and aims to provide care and support for individuals through the Alcohol Care Team at the University Hospital of North Tees. The location for these services is Hartlepool, specifically in the UKC11 region. This procurement follows a direct award process under the Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023, and the contract has been officially awarded as of 20th March 2026.

This tender creates significant opportunities for organisations specialising in health and social care services, particularly those experienced in substance misuse treatments and patient coordination. As this initiative is supported by a direct award process, businesses with prior relationships or alignments with regional health authorities could find this a strategic opportunity. It is an essential service aiming to bridge hospital and community care, focusing on integrated care planning, which could be an ideal opportunity for companies with capabilities in performance reporting and risk management in health services.
