Summary of the contracting process

NHS Norfolk and Waveney Integrated Care Board has issued a contract modification notice under the Provider Selection Regime for the James Paget University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. This modification relates to the healthcare services industry, specifically hospital and related services. It is part of the 2022-2027 service agreement and introduces a pilot 'mini' Urgent Treatment Centre aimed at managing minor injuries and enhancing urgent care delivery, aligned with NHS England's principles. This initiative will be piloted from 31 December 2025 to 31 March 2026 in the East of England region (UKH15), Great Yarmouth, and is valued at £114,255. The contract remains effective from April 2022 to March 2030, with the possibility of extending up to three years. The procurement stage is at the Award phase, and this amendment aligns with the Health Care Services Regulations 2023.

This modification opens avenues for businesses specialising in healthcare services, particularly those focused on urgent care solutions. Companies with expertise in medical pilot programmes, emergency department optimisation, and urgent treatment solutions may find promising growth opportunities through participation in this project. The enhancement of urgent care pathways offers suppliers of healthcare innovations a chance to collaborate with the James Paget University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, a prominent healthcare provider, thus contributing to more seamless and efficient healthcare delivery models during critical winter periods. The procurement follows a structured approach that excludes traditional tender requirements under Provider Selection Regime, therefore creating a unique opportunity for businesses adept at navigating flexible healthcare service agreements.
