Upcoming Request for Information (RFI): Supplier & Customer Due Diligence & Know Your Customer Services
Notice Description
A request for information to understand the market's capability, innovation, and approaches relating to due diligence activities supporting supplier onboarding, customer screening, and compliance processes for the National Wealth Fund Limited. These services may include, but are not be limited to, on-call supply chain mapping and due diligence checks, Supply chain Modern Slavery risk assessments, Financial Crime screening and Know Your Customer checks. The NWF is looking to consider the delivery models that could provide this service, such as: - SaaS / Tooling only (buyer operated); - Managed Service (supplier operated with buyer oversight) - A Hybrid (Buyer operated Tooling with Supplier support for investigation).
Planning Information
The National Wealth Fund (“NWF”), successor to the UK Infrastructure Bank, has been established to drive the nation's growth by creating a stable investment environment and mobilising private capital to align with the UK Government's strategic priorities. As NWF we will support a wider range of sectors beyond infrastructure, aligning with the Government's industrial strategy. NWF have a total capital of £27.8 billion, with at least £5.8 billion dedicated to green hydrogen, carbon capture, ports, gigafactories, and green steel. This aligns with the principle of achieving policy objectives via sound banking. Our private sector function will provide corporate and project finance and invest across the capital structure, including senior debt, mezzanine, guarantees and equity. Our local authority function will lend to local authorities at a preferential rate for high value and strategic projects of at least £5 million National Wealth Fund Limited intends to undertake preliminary market engagement. We will be issuing a Request for Information (RFI) within the next two weeks to inform a potential Request For Proposal (RFP). The purpose of this early engagement is to understand the market’s capability, innovation, and approaches relating to due diligence activities supporting supplier onboarding, customer screening, and compliance processes NWF takes a framework first approach. Depending on the outcomes of the RFI, the competition may be run through either a DPS or a CCS framework. The solution(s) & services would need to be capable of supporting our users across finance, risk, procurement, portfolio, banking and impact. RFI Scope (High Level): • Service capability in supplier and customer due diligence – both initial reviews and continual portfolio management • Technology-enabled solutions and automation • Regulatory compliance considerations (e.g., KYC, AML) • Data sources, risk screening approaches, and ongoing monitoring including areas such as Environmental, Social, and Governance metrics and supply chain due diligence • Service models, scalability, and emerging market innovations • Commercial models and options Any dates or values provided as part of this notice are estimates only and are subject to change depending on wider approvals and feedback to the early market engagement. Why We Are Engaging: This information will support National Wealth Fund Limited in understanding current market offerings, identifying innovative and efficient approaches, and informing development of a potential future procurement strategy. Participation in this RFI is voluntary and will not form part of any future evaluation. Next Steps: 1) NWF intends to conduct Early Market Engagement ("EME") with the market through this notice with a view to sharing information and seeking input from the market to inform and shape our procurement plans and approach around w/c 16th March 2026. 2) NWF will provide Suppliers with an opportunity to respond to questions & feedback on a number of documents it intends to release as part of its tender and the proposed tender process and timelines. 3) These documents will be accessed via the live opportunities list on NWF's Atamis eSourcing Portal in accordance with the instructions below in step 6 and completed feedback must be submitted via the eSourcing Portal (Atamis). We expect the documentation to be available from the week commencing the 16th March 2026 with the RFI open for up to two weeks following on from this. This notice will be updated with final date to register for the RFI once the documentation has been finalised. 4) Respondents can indicate whether they are open to a follow up meeting (s) to discuss any of the feedback they provide. Please note that due to time and resource constraints, it may not be possible for NWF to meet with all interested suppliers. In the event that the level of supplier interest in our market engagement activities exceeds our capacity to accommodate individual meetings, we reserve the right to schedule meetings on a first come, first served basis or with a representative sample of those who have submitted requests. NWF takes the view that this will constitute a fair mechanism to ensure that a range of suppliers within the market are represented (e.g., by similar solutions or responses). To ensure transparency and equal treatment, all relevant information shared by NWF with suppliers during these meetings will also be made available to the wider market at a later date. Please note that participation in this engagement will not confer any advantage or preference in relation to any future procurement process Further information will be able to be found in the documents in Atamis. Please be advised that the estimated value of this requirement or timelines cannot be derived until the completion of the Early Market Engagement activities. 5) Interested organisations should note that the procurement strategy and timetable have not been finalised at this stage. NWF will collate and analyse the responses received to decide on its final requirements and tender documents and they may also be used to develop and scope the procurement strategy and process ahead of a final decision on the procurement strategy, timetable, and content of the procurement documentation being made. NWF is not obliged or guaranteed to incorporate any or all feedback received into any subsequent Tender and this market engagement exercise does not constitute a commitment to undertake any procurement activity. Any such procurement activity may divide the scope into lots / service areas for bidding purposes and/or carve out some elements of the service scope and procure these separately or to pursue in-house solutions or award as one contract. 6) To access, please register on Atamis, available on the following link: https://atamis-3929.my.site.com/s/Welcome and send an email to Procurement@nationalwealthfund.org.uk to be included and once the early market engagement activity begins, we will add you to the event to view the documentation. This will then be visible on the 'View our Live Opportunities' from the home page on Atamis. If you are not already registered on the system, you will need to do so before gaining full access to the documentation and being able to submit your response. Any queries at this stage should be sent to Procurement@nationalwealthfund.org.uk
