Summary of the contracting process

The procurement process outlined involves NHS Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland Integrated Care Board (ICB) in awarding a contract for an Integrated Urgent Care Clinical Navigation Hub, classified under health services. The buying organisation operates under the Health Care Services Provider Selection Regime Regulations 2023, and the contract award status is currently marked as a standstill period post-publication on 11th March 2026. Representations from providers must be submitted by 23rd March 2026. Serving Leicester and Derby regions within the UK, the proposed contract for services spans from 1st April 2026 to 31st March 2027, with an estimated contract value of £4.6 million targeting health service delivery responding to urgent healthcare needs. The procurement method is direct award without prior competition publication.

This tender opens opportunities for healthcare providers, particularly those with existing contracts, such as DHU Health Care CIC, to expand their service offerings in the urgent care sector. With significant emphasis on clinical triage and navigation services following referrals from NHS111, businesses excelling in delivering health services efficiently under existing frameworks are positioned well to compete for such contracts. Innovations in healthcare service management and technology can enhance business growth for providers looking to solidify their presence in the UK health markt. While the forthcoming contract award does not require substantial changes, it maintains a focus on fulfilling urgent healthcare needs effectively, offering assurances of service extension for the selected provider.
