This service is classified under rehabilitation services and will cater to adults in Swansea and Neath Port Talbot who require clinical drug and alcohol treatment, particularly those within the criminal justice system. The standstill period commenced on 16th March 2026, with representations to be submitted by 25th March 2026. The contract, valued at £774,954, is intended to run from 1st April 2026 to 31st March 2027.

The Kaleidoscope Project, as the most suitable provider, will integrate services seamlessly with psychosocial support, ensuring continuity of care from custody to community and adhering to Public Health Wales standards. Businesses involved in drug and alcohol treatment services are well-positioned to benefit, given the emphasis on evidence-based interventions and robust clinical governance. While the contract is specific to the Swansea Bay region, similar entities looking to expand their services in rehabilitation and engage with criminal justice partners could find opportunities to collaborate and learn from this initiative.
