Summary of the contracting process

The Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) is currently in the planning stage for procuring services to provide MOT Inspection Training aimed at vehicle examiners. This procurement process is initiated by DVSA, a central government public authority based in Bristol, UK. The training is set to cater to approximately 60 delegates over a three-year contract period, commencing on 1st July 2026. The first step involves a Request for Information (RFI), with the deadline for response submission being Thursday, 2nd April 2026, at 14:00. Interested parties are encouraged to submit questions via the Department for Transport's eSourcing portal, Jaggaer, by Tuesday, 31st March 2026, 14:00. The project falls under the industry category of education and training services, with a budget of £35,000 intended for this service procurement.

This procurement opportunity offers businesses specialising in educational and vocational training the chance to partner with a significant public sector body, providing ongoing MOT inspection training crucial for DVSA's regulatory responsibilities. Ideal candidates are those experienced in delivering technical or compliance-centric training, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) that can efficiently handle a series of training courses across the contract duration. Given that the contract allows for renewal, there's potential for extended collaboration, thus furnishing long-term business growth opportunities. Suppliers are expected to navigate DVSA's eSourcing portals adeptly and meet specific registration requirements such as possessing a DUNS number. Successful engagement could position businesses to support DVSA in maintaining high standards in vehicle inspection and safety regulations across the UK.
