Summary of the contracting process

NHS North East North Cumbria Integrated Care Board (ICB) is conducting a market engagement exercise for their Integrated Podiatry Services across South Tyneside and Sunderland, classified under hospital services. This procurement process is currently in the planning stage as of 20 March 2026. Interested parties are invited to participate in a Request for Information (RFI) event, with key dates including an online information session on 30 March 2026, and subsequent one-to-one meetings on 15 April 2026. Responses for the RFI are to be submitted by 17:00 on 7 April 2026. The engagement aims to evaluate market capacity and interest ahead of future tendering opportunities, governed by the Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023.

This procurement presents significant growth opportunities for businesses specialising in healthcare services, particularly those focused on podiatry and integrated care solutions. Organisations with expertise in delivering hospital services within the UK health sector would be well-suited to participate in this engagement. While this RFI is not a competitive bid nor a pre-qualification process, it allows the NHS North East North Cumbria ICB to gauge market conditions and preferences effectively. Businesses are encouraged to engage with the ICB during this phase to help shape the future contract offering, using the Atamis electronic tendering tool to register and submit information. This engagement could bolster future opportunities once the formal contract notice is published.
