Summary of the contracting process

Central Bedfordshire Council is currently in the planning stage of developing a new Construction Framework, seeking to gather insights through a Request for Information (RFI) to shape their procurement strategy. This engagement, titled "CBC-1897-T-SM Construction Framework 2.0 RFI," falls under the works industry category, specifically focusing on building construction work. The procurement process is aimed at informing the design of a framework agreement, anticipated to commence on 1st November 2026 and conclude on 31st October 2030. The preliminary market engagement notice was published on 29th May 2026, with the deadline for feedback being 12th June 2026. Interested parties can provide input via the Authority's e-tendering portal to influence the final framework design and procurement strategy.

This tender represents an opportunity for businesses, particularly those in construction and building works, to shape future procurement strategies by engaging in early discussions with Central Bedfordshire Council. By providing feedback, businesses can help define key parameters such as lot structures, performance management, and procurement methods. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are particularly encouraged to participate, as the framework is structured to accommodate them. Businesses that successfully engage in this preliminary market engagement may find opportunities for future collaborations once the competitive tender process officially opens.
