Summary of the contracting process

The Argyll and Bute Council is overseeing a public procurement process for the Tarbert Heritage Scheme – Design Team Framework, classified under architectural design services (CPV 71220000). The procurement process is currently at the tender stage, with electronic submissions accepted until 28th May 2026. The project aims to revitalise buildings within Tarbert’s village core by providing grants for structural and external repairs. Located in Tarbert, Scotland (region UKM63), this initiative highlights community benefits and requires a conservation-accredited consultant with a full design service capability. The procurement method is an open procedure, allowing for broad participation from interested entities.

This tender offers significant business growth opportunities for firms specialising in architectural and construction consultancy services. Businesses with expertise in heritage conservation and building consultancy are well-suited to compete. By participating in this framework agreement, firms can secure work in a long-term project – spanning 1,800 days – and contribute to the enhancement of Tarbert’s waterfront. Given the requirement for technical execution reserved to specific professions, specialists in design and conservation are ideally positioned to meet these criteria. Additionally, this framework provides a streamlined process, enabling the successful consultant to access new clients and expand their professional portfolio.
