Notice Title
NRW/30295 Norfolk Strategic Housing Capacity Study
Notice Description
The Norfolk Planning Authorities comprising Broadland District Council, Breckland District Council, Great Yarmouth Borough Council, The Borough Council of King's Lynn & West Norfolk, North Norfolk District Council, Norwich City Council, South Norfolk Council and the Broads Authority, jointly invite tenders from suitably qualified consultants to produce a Strategic Housing Capacity Study. The study will review the county's capacity to meet the new housing needs targets set by the government through the review of the NPPF at the end of 2024. The Norfolk Planning Authorities wish to appoint consultants to undertake this work covering the seven districts and Broads Authority area within the county of Norfolk. The Councils listed above are the local planning authorities for their respective areas but excluding those parts in the designated Broads area, where the Broads Authority is the local planning Authority. The Councils of Broadland, Norwich, and South Norfolk, are working in partnership with Norfolk County Council through the Greater Norwich Development Partnership and have adopted the Greater Norwich Local Plan. Because of the changes to housing need brought in by the updated NPPF in 2024 most LPA's will be bringing forward revised Local Plans either through the transitional arrangements or through the new local plan process. End dates for the local plans will vary so it is proposed that the study looks until 2050.
