Summary of the contracting process

The Mayor's Office for Policing and Crime in London is initiating the planning phase for the procurement of 'Next Generation' Occupational Health and Wellbeing Services for the Metropolitan Police Service (MPS), situated within the UK public authority sector. The procurement process is currently in the planning stage, with the anticipated services earmarked to align with the new MPS Health and Wellbeing Strategy and scheduled to commence in October 2027. An early market engagement event is arranged for Wednesday, 15th April, from 12:30 to 16:00 at the De Vere Grand Connaught Rooms, London, aiming to engage suppliers in shaping future health services for police officers and staff. Suppliers are encouraged to register for this event and subsequent one-on-one discussions during the week commencing 20th April.

This tender presents substantial opportunities for businesses specialising in integrated Occupational Health and Wellbeing Services, particularly those addressing police-specific challenges such as trauma prevention and proactive health measures. The procurement method will follow the 'light touch' regulations, providing flexibility to accommodate innovative delivery models. Suppliers capable of offering tailored, bespoke services suitable for blue-light contexts and fostering resilience in policing roles are particularly well-suited to compete. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are also encouraged to participate, given the procurement's commitment to inclusivity and the strategic importance of these services to the police force's operational effectiveness.

Notice Description

The Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) intends to procure its 'Next Generation' Occupational Health and Wellbeing Services, with a planned commencement date of October 2027. Having undergone extensive internal consultation, alongside engagement with national partners, the MPS wishes to engage with potential suppliers within the Occupational Health and wellbeing market to outline our strategic direction for Occupational Health and Wellbeing Services, which will be aligned to New Met for London 2 and the emerging MPS Health and Wellbeing Strategy. As part of this engagement, suppliers will be invited to provide feedback and ask questions during the event as well as further optional 1:1 discussions with the Next Generation project team. Potential providers are encouraged to attend the market engagement event and subsequent 1:1 sessions (please see engagement section). Please note - These services are likely to be tendered under "light touch regulations" so MPS preserve the flexibility accordingly.
