Summary of the contracting process

North Staffordshire Combined Healthcare NHS Trust has confirmed the award of a contract under the Health Care Services Provider Selection Regime (PSR) Regulations 2023. The awarded contract pertains to the provision of psychiatric hospital services specifically for an out-of-area Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) placement. The procurement falls under the services category within the healthcare industry in the UK, specifically in the Wolverhampton region. The contract was awarded through a limited procurement method without prior publication of a call for competition and involves a nominal period of four weeks with an estimated value of £28,980.00, starting from 19th March 2026.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in highly specialised psychiatric services with limited national availability. The continuity of service provision indicates a notable reliability on the chosen supplier, Cygnet Wolverhampton, a large-scale organisation that successfully met the Trust's required timeframe. Businesses possessing the capability to deliver specialised mental healthcare and interested in expanding their clientele in this niche field should consider pursuing opportunities like this where specialised expert services are required urgently and consistently.
