Summary of the contracting process

The West Midlands Combined Authority has announced a tender for the "Export Support" programme, part of the business and management consultancy services sector. This procurement aims to bolster high-growth businesses in the West Midlands by offering export management support from September 2026 to March 2027, with potential extensions until March 2029. Located in Birmingham, the tender is at the active stage, with submissions required by 5th May 2026. The procurement method involves an open, competitive, flexible procedure following a detailed assessment across six stages. The tender’s total value is £2,551,500, with £2,126,250 allocated specifically for the contract period.

This tender represents significant business growth opportunities, particularly suited for SMEs and organisations with experience in export management and support services within the West Midlands. Businesses involved in consultancy and coaching — providing one-to-one, peer-to-peer, and workshop-based interventions — are well-placed to potentially benefit. With the procurement focused on helping SMEs achieve sustained export growth, suppliers with a track record of successful export support programmes will be competitive. The emphasis on quality, social value, and commercial factors provides a balanced opportunity for businesses capable of delivering high-quality support with measurable impact.
