Big Life. Big Life are the provider of a Social Prescribing service called BeWell across Manchester and other areas in Greater Manchester (GM). Social prescribing is rooted in communities and Big Life's social prescribers have a unique knowledge of services, community groups and activities that support residents/patients with a wider range of issues from social isolation, physical inactivity, smoking, alcohol use or diet.

Procurement Information

This programme (including this contract with Big Life) feeds directly into the new Health and Wellbeing Hub model, which has not previously been embedded within any hospital-based environment and is a new and developing service for MFT. Big Life's activity, and the associated contract award, contribute directly to defining and shaping this service and its continuous development over the duration of this contract. As such, it is MFT Procurement opinion that the contract is suitable be awarded under the direct award criteria for "Prototypes and Development" within Procurement Act 23.
