Summary of the contracting process

The London Borough of Camden is currently in the tender stage for the redevelopment of the Hadley Street site within the Castle Road Estate, located in London, UK. This project is titled "NEW HOMES FOR SMALL SITES: Phase 1 Package Package B Site 1" and falls under the construction industry category. The initiative aims to deliver 16 affordable homes for social rent, reflecting Camden's Community Investment Programme. With a procurement value of £8.76 million gross, the process employs a selective and competitive flexible procedure. Interested parties should note the expression of interest deadline set for 19th August 2026, with contract awards concluding by 16th February 2027. The legal framework adheres to UKPGA 2023/54, and the project is covered by GPA and is above the financial threshold for public procurement.

This tender opens substantial opportunities for businesses specialising in construction, particularly those experienced with urban housing developments in constrained environments. Ideal candidates would be builders with a proven track record in similar scale projects, demonstrating efficiencies in cost and quality management while ensuring minimal disruption to the surrounding community. SMEs and VCSEs are encouraged to engage, given the suitability provisions for these entities. The procurement underscores financial robustness and insurance prerequisites, making it suitable for companies equipped to meet these standards. Businesses that excel in stakeholder engagement, while delivering measurable social value, and innovative logistical management, will be well-placed to benefit from this opportunity and potentially expand their portfolio within public sector housing projects.
