Summary of the contracting process

The NHS Humber and North Yorkshire Integrated Care Board has initiated a procurement process for the 'Get Up, Get Dressed, Get Moving' campaign situated in North East Lincolnshire. This campaign, targeted within the social work and related services sector, aims to prevent de-conditioning in older individuals during hospital stays and in residential care settings. Currently at the award stage, the contract, valued at £30,474, commenced on 10th April 2026 and is expected to conclude on 30th September 2026. The procurement, categorised under a light-touch regime with a direct method below the threshold, was executed without competition, and the contract is geographically focused on the UKE13 region in the United Kingdom.

This tender creates growth opportunities for businesses engaged in healthcare and social services, specifically those specialising in innovative care solutions and volunteer mobilization. Entities like large-scale Volunteer Community Services Enterprises (VCSE) with a focus on elderly care and rehabilitation could find themselves particularly well-suited to compete and thrive in such initiatives. Collaboration between healthcare professionals and volunteer organisations can leverage this programme's objectives to enhance patient mobility and independence cost-effectively, making it ripe for businesses that aim to integrate therapeutic volunteering into their service offerings.

Notice Title

'Get Up, Get Dressed, Get Moving' North East Lincolnshire Campaign

Notice Description

Volunteers work in conjunction with ward based therapists to enable patients to get out of bed, get dressed and take light exercise walking around the wards, in order to prevent de-conditioning (and subsequent loss of mobility, capability and reliance on costly at home care packages). This approach will also be delivered in residential care homes where volunteers will take the same approach to preventing de-conditioning and improve patients' mobility with the subsequent benefits ensuing. Older people are identified as vulnerable in terms of de-conditioning whilst in hospital. This scheme addresses those needs to prevent future dependence on service
