Summary of the contracting process

The Royal Armouries Museum, as the contracting authority, is currently in the planning stage of a procurement process for a cleaning service at Fort Nelson, Hampshire. This planned procurement process anticipates a comprehensive service covering various aspects of cleaning, including daily maintenance, window cleaning, and the provision of washroom consumables across both visitor and staff areas. The procurement process will begin with a Preliminary Market Engagement (PME) held on 1st and 2nd June 2026, with the deadline to book a place set for 28th May 2026. This engagement is aimed at exploring market options and obtaining valuable feedback to shape the final tender specifications. The contract's estimated annual value is over £75,000, excluding VAT, and is scheduled to commence on 1st February 2027.

This procurement offers significant opportunities for businesses specialising in cleaning services, particularly those experienced in handling large-scale operations such as museums and office areas. Companies with the capability to provide a variety of related supplies and equipment, including cleaning materials and consumables like toilet paper and hand sanitiser, would find this tender particularly appealing. Participation in the PME acts as a valuable opportunity for suppliers to influence the final tender documents and establish an understanding of the project's scope and requirements, thereby positioning their businesses favourably for future growth through collaboration with a prestigious public authority like the Royal Armouries Museum.
