Summary of the contracting process

The West London Waste Authority (WLWA), a regional authority responsible for waste management across six London Boroughs, is planning to procure services for processing and recycling wood waste. The initiative is in the early planning stage, with market engagement to gauge interest in handling approximately 16,000 tonnes of predominantly Grade C wood waste annually from areas including Brent, Ealing, and Hounslow. This procurement falls under the services category and is related to environmental protection, classified under the CPV code "Transport services (excl. Waste transport)". The opportunity is expected to progress with further notice by 1st July 2026. Interested suppliers are invited to express interest but should note that this is not a competitive call for tender.

This initiative offers significant growth opportunities for businesses specialising in sustainable waste management and recycling, particularly those capable of innovative processing techniques for Grade C wood waste. Suppliers with expertise in handling large quantities of recyclable materials within the UK, specifically around the London area, would find this opportunity aligning well with their capabilities. Engaging with the WLWA could position businesses as key contributors to the circular economy efforts in one of the UK's largest metropolitan areas.
