The National Gallery in London has recently concluded a procurement process to appoint an Accessibility and Inclusion Consultant for its new wing development, a project situated within its existing Trafalgar Square estate. The procurement was conducted under an open, competitive flexible procedure and has now reached the award stage. The project seeks to integrate a new building with the National Gallery's current structures in a manner that is sensitive to its urban, cultural, and heritage contexts. The award was announced on 10th July 2026, with MIMA GROUP LIMITED identified as the successful supplier, offering a contracted value of £130,925 with services to be provided between 31st July 2026 and 31st March 2032. This tender falls under the "Specialty design services" category and involves coordination across a team of interdisciplinary professionals.

This procurement provides a substantial opportunity for businesses specialising in accessibility and inclusion, particularly those experienced with projects that demand thoughtful integration within heritage contexts. Firms with proven capabilities in developing inclusive environments, supporting accessibility strategies, and navigating complex urban planning laws would find this project well-suited to their skills. The appointment also involves tasks that span the complete lifecycle of the project, from design through to post-occupancy, making it an attractive initiative for firms seeking long-term involvement in significant cultural projects. Additionally, the emphasis on coordination with diverse technical and consultancy services presents growth prospects for firms looking to deepen their expertise and expand their project portfolios in the public sector.
