Summary of the contracting process

Wrexham County Borough Council, a sub-central government authority in the United Kingdom, completed a procurement for the Provision of Statutory Childcare Training. The tender focused on safeguarding and first aid training for early years and childcare staff, delivered through mixed schedules to accommodate different availability. Operating under Welsh devolved regulations, the tender was managed via an open competition procurement method below threshold, aiming to deliver services compliant with the National Minimum Standards for regulated childcare 2023. The award process concluded on 14th July 2026, with training services slated to begin from 3rd August 2026 in Wrexham, Wales, and potentially extending until 2030.

This procurement represents a substantial opportunity for those specialising in training services within health and social work sectors. With a contract value of up to £184,800 across two lots for safeguarding and paediatric first aid training, businesses capable of offering tailored, engaging, and bilingual training programs, particularly SMEs, can significantly benefit. The opportunity highlights a demand for expertise in delivering comprehensive child safeguarding and first aid education, presenting promising avenues for providers skilled in these crucial training areas to enhance their service offerings and expand their business footprint.
