Summary of the contracting process

The Education Authority, a central government public authority in Northern Ireland, is preparing for a significant procurement process to appoint an Integrated Consultant Team for the construction of a new 500-pupil special school in South Belfast. At the planning stage, the project engages suppliers with a Pre-Market Engagement Briefing Document, available via eTendersNI, to provide pre-tender information. Interested parties must submit queries by 5pm on 1st July 2026. The engagement is set to advance from RIBA Stages 0-7, exploring both Traditional and Modern Construction Methods. The procurement involves architectural, construction, engineering, and project management services under the industry category 'services', with an estimated project value of £4,800,000. The contract, planning to commence on 4th May 2027, will run until May 2037.

This tender offers substantial growth prospects for businesses specialising in architectural, engineering, and project management services. It is particularly suited to firms capable of providing comprehensive design and management services for educational facilities. Companies with expertise in integrating traditional and modern construction methods, and those experienced in large-scale public sector projects, will find this opportunity well-aligned with their services. By participating in this project, businesses can expand their portfolio in the public sector and gain exposure in the Northern Irish educational developments landscape, potentially fostering long-term relationships with central government entities like The Education Authority.
