Summary of the contracting process

Yorwaste Ltd procured one static trommel screening solution for Tancred WTS. The requirement covers the supply, delivery, installation, commissioning and ongoing support of a machine capable of screening processed green waste and related materials after a 10-week open-windrow process. This procurement demonstrates demand from Yorwaste for a complete static trommel solution rather than equipment supply alone. A credible future competitor would need to provide suitable screening machinery for processed green waste, together with delivery, installation, commissioning, technical support and planned preventative and reactive maintenance. Experience with compost processing, waste-treatment sites and machinery operating within PAS100-related processes would be directly relevant. Suppliers should be able to evidence reliable equipment performance, practical servicing capacity and the ability to support the asset after installation. The competition attracted five final-stage bids and was open to SMEs, indicating that specialist smaller businesses can compete where they combine suitable machinery with strong service delivery and a competitive whole-life price.
