Summary of the contracting process

The London Borough of Lambeth is commissioning supported employment services under its Connect to Work programme. Up to four local providers will deliver targeted Individual Placement and Support using a “Place and Train” model: helping residents move rapidly into employment, then providing continuing support to the individual and employer to sustain the job. The requirement covers four service areas: people with learning disabilities or autism; people with physical long-term health conditions; people with severe mental health conditions; and in-work support for residents at risk of losing their jobs. This is a public service and community support opportunity, including welfare services for disabled people and broader social services. The work is for residents in Lambeth and is suitable for small and medium-sized enterprises and voluntary, community or social enterprises.

The procurement has reached tender: Lambeth invited offers through an open procedure. It is divided into four lots. The tender value is £1,111,250 excluding VAT, or £1,333,500 including VAT. Providers should also be able to work in partnership with Lambeth and local services, address equality, diversity and inclusion, monitor outcomes, report performance and improve delivery continuously. The specification favours organisations with suitably trained and supervised staff, and allows participation by SMEs and voluntary, community or social enterprises.
