Summary of the contracting process

The North Yorkshire Council is in the planning stage of a public procurement process for its "Request for Information - Private Water Supply" project. This entails the initial market engagement to evaluate providers capable of delivering private water supply sampling and analysis services in compliance with the Private Water Supplies Regulations 2016 and Drinking Water Testing Specification (DWTS) accreditation. The procurement falls under the industry category of Composition and purity testing and analysis services, with a focus on North Yorkshire, UK. The process began on 22nd June 2026 and anticipates future milestones, including a scheduled engagement deadline on 13th July 2026, ahead of the procurement's commencement period starting on 1st June 2027.

This tender provides significant business growth opportunities for enterprises experienced in laboratory services and water quality testing, particularly those capable of executing large-scale sampling projects across extensive geographical areas. Given the contract's suitability for SMEs and the demanding requirements of over 900 sample visits annually across North Yorkshire, service providers with strong logistical capabilities and comprehensive laboratory resources are well positioned to compete. The project's scope offers lucrative returns and an extended contract period, making it ideal for businesses seeking long-term engagements in environmental and quality assurance domains.
