Summary of the contracting process

Havant Borough Council is overseeing a procurement process for "Lead Designer Consultancy Services" at Waterlooville Leisure Centre, taking place in Havant, United Kingdom (region UKJ35). The procurement is in the completed stage as of June 2026, having followed a limited procurement method due to the project being below the threshold for wider competition. The contract involves architectural and engineering services, specifically focusing on transforming facilities at the leisure centre, and was awarded to BRADSHAW GASS & HOPE LLP. The contract period runs from 1st August 2025 to 31st August 2026, with potential scope for extensions.

This project presents significant opportunities for businesses in the architectural and engineering sectors, particularly those specialising in leisure and community facilities design. The tender involves extensive design and consultancy services across multiple RIBA design stages, offering growth potential for firms capable of delivering high-quality design and management while coordinating multi-disciplinary teams. Companies skilled in providing comprehensive design services, including architectural lead, structural and mechanical engineering, and fire safety consultancy, will find this tender particularly appealing. The project's segmented approach, divided into phases, aligns well with firms ready to engage in dynamic and large-scale community infrastructure renovation projects.
