Summary of the contracting process

South Oxfordshire District Council is currently in the planning stage of a public procurement process aimed at extending the Berinsfield Playground. This project focuses on the installation of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) friendly play equipment. The procurement process is located in the UK region of South Oxfordshire and is under the 'works' industry category. The council has initiated a soft market testing exercise to gather insights from suppliers specialising in inclusive playground design, installation, and sensory play environments. Interested suppliers are invited to respond by 22nd July 2026, with feedback set to influence project specifications and budgeting.

This procurement presents a growth opportunity for businesses involved in playground equipment supply, especially those with experience in creating inclusive and sensory-friendly play areas. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with expertise in playground design and landscaping will find this tender particularly relevant. As the council is in the planning phase, participating in this preliminary market engagement can help businesses align their offerings to match the council's needs, paving the way for potential future collaborative opportunities. The engagement, however, remains non-committal, offering insight without any competitive disadvantage in future tenders.
