The Ministry of Defence is buying 16 visual air traffic control simulators for Royal Air Force locations across the United Kingdom. The solution must support a visual aerodrome control environment, day and night operations, airfield lighting, weather effects, communications, radar, airfield information, pseudo-pilot control and repositionable viewpoints. It must accommodate a trainer, trainee and pseudo-pilot simultaneously within two office desk spaces. Relevant capability also includes exercise creation and editing, replay and debriefing support, user training and materials, KPI reporting, feedback and continuous improvement. Suppliers should demonstrate comparable systems or mock-ups and a credible clean-energy and nature-protection approach.
