Summary of the contracting process

Swindon Borough Council, a public authority in the sub-central government category, has recently completed a procurement process titled "Vacant Property Repairs (Voids)." The process was conducted under limited competition due to its below-threshold nature and involved refurbishing vacated council properties to a suitable, lettable standard. The endeavour aims to cater to vulnerable groups needing secure housing. This contract, valued up to £490,000, was undertaken in Swindon, UKK14 region, and took place between 1st May 2026 and 31st October 2026. The primary industry category involved is building construction work, classified under CPV 45210000.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses skilled in minor refurbishment and construction work, particularly smaller enterprises. The awarded companies, GB Group (Corporate) Ltd, Snape Contracting Services Ltd, and CANTILLON GROUP LTD, exemplify SMEs that were well-suited to secure a place in this project due to their capacity to manage renovation tasks within operational housing environments. Such projects can act as a platform for growth and visibility for businesses in the property repair and maintenance sector looking to expand their footprint in public sector contracts.
