Summary of the contracting process

NHS Norfolk and Suffolk Integrated Care Board, in collaboration with the University of Suffolk, is in the planning stage of procuring a provider for their new General Dental Services located at the University Waterfront in Ipswich. This procurement process, guided by the Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023, focuses on managing and developing a state-of-the-art dental facility that integrates NHS dental services with student placements. The service’s geographical focus is the East of England, specifically within the CPV category of Dental practice and related services. Interested parties are encouraged to join market engagement sessions scheduled throughout July 2026, with the procurement process expected to formally begin post these sessions in September 2026.

This tender offers substantial opportunities for businesses experienced in NHS dental service delivery and student supervision. Providers stand to benefit from a stable contract with possibilities for service expansion under the guidance of the Provider Selection Regime. Companies that can demonstrate expertise in both operational management of dental facilities and educational placements will be well-positioned to compete. Potential contractors are encouraged to participate in the market engagement events to align their proposals with the buyer’s expectations and gain a competitive edge.
