Summary of the contracting process

The NHS Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland Integrated Care Board (NHS LLR ICB) is currently in the planning stage of a procurement process for the "Single Point of Access (SPoA) - Urgent Care" service. This initiative falls within the health services industry category and aims to establish a coordinated entry system for urgent community care across Leicester, Leicestershire, and Rutland. The procurement follows the Provider Selection Regime, exempt from the Procurement Act 2023, and is valued at £25 million over a potential five-year duration. An intended contract start date is set for 1st April 2027, with procurement activities updating after 21st July 2026 when the notice will be live for 14 days. The process employs the PSR Most Suitable Provider methodology to identify the ideal provider.

This tender offers substantial business growth opportunities, particularly for enterprises specialising in healthcare coordination and integrated service delivery. Businesses equipped with capabilities in providing clinically-led triage functions, 24/7 operation, digital health solutions, and service integration across health, social care, and community services stand to be highly competitive. SMEs with expertise in urgent care solutions and capacity management technologies could leverage this project to enhance visibility and influence within the broader UK healthcare market.
